We are fast moving towards the shortest day of the year – the evenings drawing in, cold falling, the last leaves falling from trees, the earth resting. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, life can become incredibly full, busy and hectic around this time, as we race into winter time, and towards the end of the year.
Yet at the same time, this is the time of year when our minds and bodies need and ask for replenishment – to restore, nourish and recuperate – and to gather energy until spring starts to rise.
Looking back over the year, there is much to be grateful for, also to wonder about – happiness and celebration across the globe, and the individual imprint of this in our own lives. Alongside, the injustices and conflict amongst other human beings, and our own individual contraction against things in our lives that cause fear, sorrow, suffering on some level. Even as the planet spins around in the infinite darkness of space.
Alongside enjoying the season’s festivities, I hope that life gives you time for you to be present and to nurture yourself – to create an inner space in which to plant seeds of new beginnings and affirmations, to water these with positivity and good intention, so that they may spring into life as the earth starts to warms up again, new life stirs, and we can move forward as the seasons flow.
Wishing you all joy and happiness as the old year closes, and the new year unfolds.
